California dreaming with Jyrki 69

Over the years Los Angeles has become a creative home-away-from-home for Jyrki 69 and Finnish rock band The 69 Eyes.

“Living in Hollywood was just a distant dream when The 69 Eyes started to play LA, but now it’s become our second home to record, film music videos, and get creative,” says lead vocalist Jyrki 69. “Regardless of how many times I visit, there’s always something new to discover.”

My five LA meccas:

1. TCL (Grauman’s) Chinese Theatre, Hollywood

Hollywood has always been “the” reason to go to Los Angeles. Movies, celebrities, and dreams all meet on Hollywood Boulevard. Which is a perfect start for your visit!

2. Sunset Strip, Hollywood

World-famous rock venues and bars such as Whisky A Go-Go, Viper Room, Roxy, and Rainbow Bar & Grill still line the legendary Sunset Strip. You’ll always find something going on in the heart of West Hollywood – and if you’re lucky, you might even bump into someone famous. I highly recommend a visit to this iconic stretch of road. Who knows when these historic clubs will vanish.

3. Venice Beach

You can’t go to LA without hitting the beach. The coolest one in my world is Venice Beach. If you’re up early enough, you might even spot dolphins off Venice Pier!

4. Disneyland

A classic old-school visit to Disneyland takes you away from the real world. These days it’s much needed!

5. Crossroads Kitchen, Melrose Avenue

Hollywood is full of great restaurants, but Crossroads Kitchen is hands down one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the world! Highly recommended if you are a vegan or just looking for a culinary experience!

The legendary Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip turns 47 this year!

The historic Hollywood Walk of Fame is the world's most famous sidewalk.

The “Declaration” statue is installed on the Venice Beach boardwalk.
