Can an airport be a destination in itself? If it’s Singapore Jewel Changi Airport, then yes.
This could just be the world’s coolest (and greenest) airport.
1. Marvel at the world’s largest (and Insta-friendly) indoor waterfall
With a height of 40 metres, the stunning Rain Vortex is not only the largest, but also the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. Rainwater is collected and pumped to the roof from where it falls freely into a basement-level pool at a pace of roughly 37,850 litres per minute.
2. Take a mini hike in the Shiseido Forest Valley
If you have a long connecting flight layover and want to go for a rejuvenating walk a on a forest trail, this is where you should head. The paths in this 22,000 square metre real forest take you all the way up to the highest level to Canopy Park.
3. Clock in some play time at Canopy Park
Jewel’s top-level, Canopy Park, is a 14,000 square-metre-haven for families. Here, the young and young-at-heart can ride down gigantic slides or bounce in the giant sky nets surrounded by stunning scenery.
4. Feast in the food hall
When it comes to eating, there are 112 food and beverage outlets to choose from. Try the Five Spices food court that specialises in local hawker flavours. Or sample Jewel’s exclusive dish, the locally inspired “Sambal Glazed Lobster” at Burger and Lobster.
