The excitement builds around Finnair A350
Last May I had a once-in-the-lifetime opportunity to visit the Airbus facilities in Toulouse, France. I was one of the lucky winners in an internal raffle organized at Finnair and together with nine other colleagues I got to visit the place where the Finnair A350 XWB –aircraft is built. This is definitely something that isn’t included in the annual routines for a gate service agent. Now, after the new plane has had its first test flight, the momentum is starting to build up.
When I heard that Finnair had ordered the new planes, I had a feeling of security. Everyone knows how turbulent this industry is, and this new investment gave me and my colleagues certainty about the future.
Starting operations with the A350 requires great teamwork on all fields in the company. For example, we at the airport are prepared to make sure the airport service flows as smoothly and fast as before even though the A350 takes in more passengers than our previous A340 or A330 aircrafts. Though I’m sure everyone will want to step in to the plan as quickly as they can as it is going to be great!
I look forward to welcoming you all at the airport!
